New sawmill to be soon launched in Siberia
25 November 2012
Constructed in 1960s, Lesosibirsky LDK 1 (Krasnoyarsk region, Russia) today is one of the largest sawmills operating in Russia. Autumn 2011 was marked with a very important event – the enterprise signed the largest ever contract on equipment delivery within the framework of production facilities modernization program.
The new sawmill will be equipped with the equipment from the leading European suppliers - Veisto, Hekotek, Heinola and ValonKone – their equipment have many times proved its quality and efficiency at the largest sawmills of the world. Interesting is the fact that Heinola is the only manufacturer in the list of the suppliers, whose equipment the plant in Lesosibirsk has been familiar to. Green and dry sorting lines by Plan-Sell – one of the enterprises in the background of Heinola – have been operating here for several decades.
For today delivery of the sawmill equipment for Lesosibirsky LDK 1 successfully completed – some 120 freight cars and containers were delivered to Lesosibirsk within the framework of the project from Europe.
Upon the project realization, which is to be completed in spring 2013, the sawmill will annually process up to 1.5 mln m3 of sawlogs and be able to successfully compete in the world timber market.
