The Major Forest Industry Event in Russia 2016

The 16th International Exhibition ‘LesDrevMash – 2016’


At the ‘ExpoCentre’ in Moscow, from 24 to 27 of October,  the largest show of timber industry – 16th international exhibition ‘Machines, equipment and technologies for forestry, timber and furniture industry – LesDrevMash - 2016’ – successfully passed.

The exhibition, one of the five major world industrial exhibition brands, was deservedly marked with honorable signs of the World Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF).


Products of 423 companies from 28 countries were featured at the exhibition.

The latest equipment and technologies for woodworking industry were demonstrated on a total area of ​​more than 30,000 sq.m.

The exhibition was visited by 10,038 industry professionals.



Expositions were presented by Germany, Italy, Spain, China, Russia, Finland, France. For the first time Japan participated on the state level. Japan Woodworking Machinery Association JWMA with support of the Ministry of Economy and Trade of Japan presented 17 leading manufacturers of advanced technologies for the timber industry. Well-known manufacturers showed modern solutions for woodworking: Fuji, Hirota Corporation, Kanefusa Corporation, Kikukawa Enterprise, Kitagawa Engineering, OI Seisakusho, Suzuko, Yamamoto Vinita and many others.


Recent development was demonstrated by global giants of forest machinery, such as: Biesse, SCM, Cefla, Wagner, Griggio, Freud, Koimpex, Imal, Coima, Homag, Weing, Siempelkamp, Ima, Imawell, Hartmann, Dieffenbacher, Sandvik, Wintersteiger, Felder, Ledinek, Polytechnik, Camozzi, Komatsu, Palfinger, Ponsse,  Amitec Corporation,  Eno Sangyo Co., Ltd.,  Fuji Kogyo Co., Ltd., Fuji Seisakusho, Ltd., Hashimoto Denki Co., Ltd., Iida Kogyo Co., Ltd., Kobayashi Kikai Kogyo Co., Ltd., Marunaka Tekkosho Inc., Meinan Machinery Works, Inc., Tenryu Saw Mfg. Co., Ltd., KDT Machinery Ltd., Tajfun and others.


250 Russian companies presented the latest advances for timber complex. Namely: KAMI, Intervesp, MDM-Techno, Liga, Lidteh, LTT, Kroneks, CFTechnologies, Avtomatika Vektor, Bakaut, Termit the plant, Tigrupp, Atlasmash, Proletarskaya Svoboda factory, Borovichi plant of woodworking machines, Belgorod abrasive plant, Maikop machine building plant, SC Taiga and many others.

The Union ‘Agency of development of communities and workers World Skills Russia’ held a timber industry championship ‘Young Professionals’ for experts from 16 to 22 years. They competed in different categories: Joinery, Cabinetmaker, Carpentry, Woodworking on CNC machines. Best participants have joined the Russian team; they will represent our country at the World Cup in Abu Dhabi (UAE) in 2017.


The VIII International Forum ‘Forest and man’ became a Central event of business program at LesDrevMash - 2016.


The Forum’s motto was ‘Investing in innovative development and the environment’. There were about twenty events: thematic sections, round tables, seminars, conferences.

Subjects, which were discussed at the Forum, reflected picture of forestry development in our country. Specific attention was paid to the investment climate in Russia, environmental aspects of the forestry sector, improving law enforcement and governance, main directions and trends of forest engineering, timber science and educational systems and other up-to-date problems of domestic forest development.

The exhibition "Lesdrevmash-2016" held Bioenergy Day.

Industry professionals showed great interest in international conference entitled ‘Bioenergy: pellets, briquettes, wood chips, boilers and CHP biofuel’. 

For the first time the exhibition "Lesdrevmash-2016" held the first Congress of Mechanical Engineering and Wood Russia. Questions about development of domestic production and import of foreign equipment, as well as proposals for development of forest engineering in Russia, were discussed. Machinery and equipment for forestry, logging, wood chemistry, pulp and paper and wood industries that manufacture products from wood and wood-based materials – main issues of the discussion. All the discovered tenders will be reflected in future development strategy before 2030 year.

The Session ‘Russian export hub: tools for support the export of timber equipment’, Organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation, JSC ‘REC’ and JSC ‘Expocentre’ also aroused a great interest. 

Business program’s events gave clear understanding of domestic industry processes. Exhibition and Forum participants constructively discussed topical issues of domestic forest industry development and outlined ways for further progress in the current economic conditions.
