Ponnse again scored highly in the survey of companies' reputation
27 November 2015
“This is a wonderful recognition for all of us at Ponsse for our hard work. At the same time, this is a recognition for the entire industry dealing with forest machines and harvesting," says Juha Vidgrén, Chairman of the Ponsse Board of Directors.
The reputation survey assessed the reputation of Finnish listed companies. Vaisala, a manufacturer of environmental and industrial measurement equipment came in third place, and Wärtsilä, a supplier of power solutions in the marine and energy markets, came in fourth.
"The reputation leaders among listed companies maintain their foothold year after year. The best companies are strong in all areas of reputation. What the companies that do well in the survey have in common is good products and services, strategic ability to respond to market changes and a strong corporate culture,” says CEO Jouni Heinonen from Pohjoisranta Burson-Marsteller, the company that conducted the survey.
Upward trend in the forest industry
The survey indicated that Finns' faith in the forest industry has recovered. The company to increase its ranking the most in the survey was paperboard producer Metsä Board, rising 18 positions to tenth place. In terms of overall reputation, another success besides Metsä Board was UPM-Kymmene, moving up thirteen places to ninth place.
"UPM-Kymmene's investment in bioproducts, such as biofuels and biocomposites, and the bioproduct mill project launched by Metsä Board's parent company Metsä Group have presumably also contributed to the future trust in the entire industry and enhanced the companies' reputation," says Jouni Heinonen.
In the reputation survey conducted in October, the reputation of companies was assessed by 1,804 respondents, who were mainly Finnish private investors. The survey assessed 76 Finnish listed companies.
