Segezha Group creates pellet production in Sokol

PJSC "Segezha Group" ("Segezha Group" or "Company", MOEX: SGZH), a subsidiary of PJSC JSFC Sistema (JSFC Sistema) and the leading Russian vertically-integrated timber holding with a full cycle of logging and deep wood processing reports that the largest woodworking enterprise in the Vologda region - Sokolsky Woodworking Plant JSC continues the construction of a pellet production facility that will process by-products and wood waste from the plant into biofuel - fuel pellets. 


The capacity of the new workshop will be 65 thousand tons of pellets per year. Investment in the project - about 1 billion rubles. Currently, the installation of technological equipment is underway. The supplier is the Estonian company Hekotek. Also, work is being completed on the construction of foundations, laying networks and communications, the installation of the workshop building has begun.

“After putting new capacities into operation, the plant will become an almost completely closed-cycle enterprise. Pellets are a demanded product of deep wood processing in the international market. With the opening of a new production facility, we will be able to increase the marginality of the Group's product portfolio and increase the volume of our environmentally friendly products. Due to the development of environmentally friendly resource-saving technologies, Sokolsky DOK will become one of the “greenest” industries in Russia, ”said Dmitry Rudenko, vice president of Segezha Group.
