Effective quality assessment from FinScan
2 December 2020
In the 4th quarter of 2020, FinScan specialists completed the installation of FinScan NOVA lumber quality assessment scanners in the Ustyansky and Velsky timber processing complexes of the ULC group of companies.
The NOVA system was chosen to enable the task of scanning boards from all sides without having to flip it on the line, thereby increasing the speed of the sorting line. Together with these systems, FinScan EndSpy end scanners and a FinScan MoistSpy non-contact moisture meter were installed for a complete and comprehensive analysis of all product parameters. Thanks to the effective modern quality assessment system from FinScan, which analyzes the properties and defects of sawn timber, both sections of ULC Group of Companies received the opportunity to increase the cost output of products and the volume of sorting. Now all the finished products of the ULC group of companies are evaluated by FinScan scanners, and the total number of working scanners in Russia and Belarus has reached 25 units.
